My focus involves supporting and educating young people so that they can more effectively manage intense feelings and communicate with those that care about them.  We will pay special attention to developing coping and problem-solving skills while learning how thoughts, feelings, and actions are related.  I use a person-centered approach, incorporating fun and interesting activities to build relationships with children/adolescents so that we can work together to meet therapeutic goals.  My techniques vary depending on the age of the child/teen with careful consideration of their unique situation.  With input from family members, I can help the family understand how to improve communication skills and work together as a family unit.
