Terms & Conditions

Welcome to the Aspire Counseling website!  Aspire Counseling is a division/DBA of Aspire to Inspire Behavioral Health and Addiction Services, LLC.  The terms and conditions listed below govern your use of our website(s) and services.  By accessing or using our website, you agree to abide by these terms and conditions.

Acceptance of Terms and Conditions

By accessing and using our website, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.  If you do not agree to these terms and conditions, please do not use our website.

Client Confidentiality

We are committed to maintaining the confidentiality of all client information in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, including the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH) Act.  Any information shared with us during the course of therapy sessions will be kept strictly confidential, except in cases where mandated reporting is required by law.  As mandated reporters, we are obligated to report instances of suspected child abuse, elder abuse, abuse of persons with disabilities, or threats of harm to self or others.

For the protection of your privacy, we discourage the sharing of confidential information through our website, social media channels, text message, or email.  These methods of communication are intended for basic outreach, scheduling, and administrative purposes only, and we cannot guarantee the security of information shared via these means.  Please refrain from disclosing sensitive or confidential information through those channels and instead reserve such discussions for sessions with your therapist that take place in-person or on our secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform that is specifically designated for therapy purposes.

Therapist-Client Relationship

Please note that the use of our website does not establish a therapist-client relationship.  A therapist-client relationship is established only upon initiation of therapy services with one of our licensed therapists (i.e., upon your first kept appointment).

Payment and Cancellation Policies

Payment for therapy sessions is due at the time of scheduling.  Payment methods accepted include cash, check, and credit card.  In an effort to minimize unpaid balances, we require credit card information to be kept on file for all clients.  Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance to avoid being charged a $65 fee.  No-showing a scheduled appointment will also result in a $65 fee.

Telehealth and its Limits

Aspire Counseling offers both in-person and telehealth therapy services.  Telehealth psychotherapy may include mental health and substance use disorder evaluations, assessments, consultation, treatment planning, and therapy sessions.  Telehealth sessions at Aspire Counseling occur via the Simple Practice telehealth platform, which is HIPAA-compliant and includes interactive audio and video communication.

Telehealth therapy increases accessibility for those in rural areas, and it can be effective.  However, it may not be suitable for all individuals or situations.   As with any form of therapy, results cannot be guaranteed or assured.  If one of our therapists determines that a client would be better served by in-person interventions, appropriate recommendations/referrals will be provided.

Additionally, telehealth therapy at Aspire Counseling is not an emergency service.  Our therapists are not on-call, nor are they available 24/7, so we are not always able to provide immediate assistance in crisis situations.  Therefore, if you are experiencing a life-threatening emergency, please call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room.  You can also find additional crisis resources on our Client Resources page.
