Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) at Aspire Counseling

EMDR is a specialized form of psychotherapy designed to help individuals overcome the distressing effects of trauma.  It is an evidence-based, powerful (yet non-invasive), and rapid treatment that enables people to heal from the symptoms and emotional distress that are the result of disturbing life experiences.  It seems to stimulate the stored information in order to allow the brain to reprocess the experience.  Since its development by Francine Shapiro in 1987, it has gained recognition has a highly effective treatment not only for trauma-related conditions but also a number of other clinical concerns, such as anxiety, depression, addictions, panic, grief, chronic pain, eating disorders, and more.

This service is only offered by select therapists who have been trained in EMDR.  It is available at both locations and via telehealth.
